The Other Side Of Lekki: The Rich Also Cry


Lekki, habitat of the rich in Lagos State, Nigeria. Adjoining to peninsula, Victoria Island and Ikoyi districts is surrounded by Atlantic Ocean to its south, Lagos Lagoon to the north, and Lekki Lagoon to its east.


This city is known for its gigantic structures where the Nigerian actors/actresses, footballers, politicians, musicians, entertainers and economic bourgeoisies have bought houses, built or rented choice apartments worth millions of Naira

However, it is sadden to know that flood has been taking over the billionaire's city as the recent heavy rain fall in Lagos has caused most of the streets in the area to be heavily flooded, houses submerged and waterlogged.

The natural tragedy which has bedeviled the highbrow area of Lekki in the past three weeks has caused the rich to make the “Mainland Area” their abode which is usually considered as the “Low Class Area" of coverage.
